Woman robbed at department store in Stanford Mall

PALO ALTO — A woman was accosted and robbed Tuesday afternoon at the Stanford Mall, police said.

The incident was reported at 4:55 p.m. inside the Nordstrom store. The victim, a woman in her 20s, told police she purchased $2,500 worth of items and was leaving the register when she was approached by a woman, the NYPD said. Palo Alto in a press release.

The suspect grabbed the victim’s shopping bags and fled the department store, police said. The victim chased the suspect and watched him leave the scene in a new gray Toyota Camry.

Police say the victim recognized the suspect as someone she shared an acquaintance with.

The suspect was described as black, in her twenties, 5ft 1in tall and weighing 140lbs. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, black jeans and sandals. She was accompanied by another woman, who was described as black and in her twenties; she was last seen wearing an orange shirt, black jacket, blue jeans and a white surgical mask.

Their car was last seen heading east on Sand Hill Road toward El Camino Real.

The victim complained of abdominal pain after chasing the suspect, but refused to receive medical treatment, police said.
