Thieves smash the doors of a store in a mall

The Leesburg Police Department is investigating robberies from a retail store and an attempted second robbery that occurred early Saturday morning.

According to the report, officers responded to a commercial alarm at the Virginia Village mall around 2 a.m. on April 2. Someone had smashed the glass front door to the business and taken an undetermined amount of property from the business.

Later, agents were dispatched to another commercial alarm at a second company located in the same mall. Officers determined that someone had attempted to break through the second company’s flat glass front door, but was unable to gain entry.

Officers were unable to locate a suspect.

The businesses targeted were the Virginia ABC store and the Compounding Center pharmacy.

Both incidents are still under investigation. Anyone who has not yet spoken to law enforcement and has information about any of the incidents is asked to contact Detective M.
