The Ridge mall in Elk Grove fills with new stores

A trio of new storefronts have opened at The Ridge shopping center in Elk Grove over the past month, with site representatives saying larger stores are also on the way.

Mayweather Boxing Fitness Concept Boxing and Fitness; local home improvement chain Zothex Flooring, Cabinets & More; and AT&T opened in the center at Elk Grove Boulevard and Bruceville Road, Ridge representatives say.

“The Ridge is coming together,” Kelly Rule, vice president of leasing at developer The Ridge, Pappas Investments, said Friday.

Rule said the center is 93% pre-leased with “some majors coming together,” including an as-yet-unannounced national bank and some 100,000 square feet of big-box tenants.

The Ridge is home to Costco and, as reported last month, an Amazon Fresh currently under construction. The nearly 42,000 square foot Amazon supermarket will join a planned Roseville location on Stanford Ranch Road as the first two Sacramento-area Amazon Fresh locations. Also under construction at The Ridge, a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant on Elk Grove Boulevard at the northeast corner of Bruceville Road.

In the meantime, cosmetics brand Sephora plans to move in alongside Amazon Fresh, Rule said. Sephora recently partnered with Kohl’s department stores with a store-in-store concept, including at Kohl’s Elk Grove location in the nearby Elk Grove Commons mall on Bruceville Road.

“We’re happy to have them,” she said.

Rumi’s Oasis restaurant and bakery in the Elk Grove Commons mall is slated to open in March.

Several international dining options will also soon occupy space at The Ridge, which already houses N’Joy Cafe, Olive Garden, Crumbl Cookies, among others.

Bay Area Greek Food Franchise Nick the Greek is coming to the center soon. The restaurant chain with some 29 locations in Northern California has locations locally in Davis and Roseville, with plans for additional locations in Folsom, Natomas, Roseville Fountains and Sacramento, according to its website.

Curry Up Now, which also has a location in downtown Sacramento’s Ice Blocks, is also on bridge with Philippines-based restaurant chain Jollibee, which will drop stakes behind Starbucks on the Elk Grove Boulevard side of downtown. , Rule said.

Rule said business at The Ridge — and Elk Grove — has remained buoyant during the ongoing pandemic.

“During the pandemic, we haven’t slowed down,” she said. “It’s been very busy, signing leases, (attracting) new tenants. Elk Grove is a growing area and very popular with retailers.
