Sheriff’s Office investigating sexual assault at Sterling Mall

The sheriff’s office is investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred Wednesday night in Sterling.

Investigators were called to Reston Hospital on the night of February 18 after the teenage victim reported to Herndon Police Department officers that she had been sexually assaulted in the Sterling area. The assault was determined to have occurred on February 16 between 7:50 p.m. and 9 p.m. near the Sterling Park shopping center.

The victim said she was walking in the 400 block area of ​​Enterprise Street when five men began talking to her. At one point, several of the men grabbed her before one of them touched her inappropriately and sexually assaulted her. They then left the area.

The high school aged suspects were described as a white man, two Hispanic men and two black men, some of whom were wearing Nike Air Jordans sneakers. Two wore shirts with a car motif, two wore blue disposable masks and the others wore baggy pants, hoodies and flannel shirts possibly tied around the waist. They were said to all be about 5 feet tall. 6 inches tall with average builds, according to the report.
