The clash in the Target parking lot at Tempe Marketplace drew a large police presence, KSAZ-TV and KPNX reported.

According to the Mesa Police Department, officers initially responded to a report of an assault on a ranger at the city’s Riverview Park, according to KSAZ.

“A vehicle that may have been involved left the park and headed west on Rio Salado where it stopped at the Tempe market,” the department told the broadcaster.

When officers located the RV at the mall and attempted to lead the occupant outside, the suspect locked herself in the RV, KPNX reported.

The woman was arrested shortly after, after a brief confrontation with officers from multiple agencies, including a SWAT team.

It was not immediately clear what charges the woman, whom police have not publicly identified, faces because authorities did not specify the nature of the reported assault on the park ranger, KPNX reported. .
