Philadelphia man charged with armed carjacking at Devon Square mall in Tredyffrin Township

TREDYFRIN TWP., Pa. (WPVI) — A man has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed carjacking in Chester County, police say.

Siheem Walker, 20, of Philadelphia, has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, robbery threatening grievous bodily harm and other crimes in the September 19 carjacking at the Devon Square Shopping Center.

Police say the crime happened around 5:15 p.m. when a 17-year-old man was buying milk at Target.

Tredyffrin Township Police are looking for this vehicle in connection with a carjacking at Devon Square Shopping Center on September 19, 2022.

“He started his vehicle, went to put it in reverse, two men entered the passenger side of his vehicle. According to the victim, the two (suspects) pointed guns at him, demanded his key fob, his wallet and told him to get out of the vehicle,” Tredyffrin Township Police Department Detective Sergeant Jim Slavin said in a previous interview with Action News.

Authorities say the victim was not physically injured.

Walker is currently being held in Philadelphia, police said.

Authorities are now working to identify other suspects in connection with the crime.
