Local department store OG celebrates 60th anniversary with raffle

SINGAPORE – Local department store OG has been a mainstay of the shopping scene here since its beginnings as Ocean Garments in September 1962.

And in honor of turning 60, the local retailer announced a big party – including a raffle with a grand prize worth $60,000.

The prize will be split equally as $30,000 in cash and $30,000 in OG gift certificates.

Those who want to try their luck can do so with every $60++ net spend in one receipt at any of the three OG stores at the Albert Complex, Orchard Point, and People’s Park.

Purchases made from the retailer’s online store at og.com.sg will also be eligible for the prize draw.

A select group of entrants will then be shortlisted and invited to join the Grand Prize Game event at OG Orchard Point on October 1, from 1-3 p.m.

Those not on the shortlist are still welcome to attend the event, as there are prizes up for grabs for everyone from appliances to kitchenware to luggage.

See https://og.com.sg/pages/60annivdraw for more details on how to enter the sweepstakes, as well as terms and conditions.

It’s the culmination of a month-long series of anniversary events, which saw OG give away Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max devices every week for three weeks.

Meanwhile, OG Orchard Point is also holding its moving sale until October 9, after announcing the outlet’s closure in July. It will make way for a new store specializing in fresh produce and groceries.

A spokesperson said at the time that OG was “looking to open more outlets closer to (its) suburban customers.”
