Izmir Metropolitan Municipality’s International Gender Equality Cartoon Exhibition, which ensures the strong participation of women in life by carrying out important gender equality projects, began to be exhibited by a private institution for the first time after public institutions. The exhibition, which consists of works awarded and deemed worthy of display in the International Gender Equality Cartoon Competition, met with art lovers at Agora İzmir Mall. Along with the exhibition, the Department of Social Projects of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality also opened a booth where the services of the Key Holistic Service Center will be showcased. The exhibition can be visited until May 1.
The works that have been awarded and deemed worthy of display in the International Gender Equality Cartoon Competition organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which ensures the strong participation of women in life with the projects she implements, continue to meet art lovers in order to raise social awareness. Agora İzmir Mall hosts the exhibition as the first private institution after Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center, the headquarters of the Republican People’s Party and district municipalities. The ceremony, in which the stand of the Key Holistic Services Center was inaugurated with the exhibition, was attended by Neptün Soyer, the wife of the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Izmir, Tunç Soyer, and the President of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Gender Equality Commission, Atty. Nilay Kökkılınç, General Manager of Agora Shopping Center Hasan Noyan, Head of Social Projects Department of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Anıl Kaçar, bureaucrats of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and art lovers were present. The exhibition can be visited until May 1.
Neptune Soyer: “Izmir is the city of democracy and equality”
Neptün Soyer, wife of Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer, said, “The gender equality cartoon exhibition met the private sector after the public space. Chairman of the Commission for Gender Equality of the Metropolitan Municipality of Izmir Atty. Nilay Kökkılınç said, “As Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, we attach great importance to gender equality. It is included in the fifth article of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We want the struggle in this area not only to stay in the public sphere, but also to walk with us in the private sector. Agora innovates in Izmir by hosting our exhibition”.
Noyan: “We want to support any Metropolitan project”
Hasan Noyan, General Manager of Agora Mall, said, “Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is the pioneer of firsts. The Agora shopping center has completed its 19th year. We are the commercial center of the city. It is up to us to be the first. As Agora Mall, we would like to support any necessary Izmir Metropolitan Municipality project and be together,” he said.
