Galeries Lafayette: the largest department store in Europe

Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann is the shopping destination par excellence and has been at the beating heart of Paris since its creation in 1894. Some 37 million visitors come each year to Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann to discover a wide range of luxury and designer products – jewelry and watches, leather goods, shoes, care, lingerie, children’s clothing, delicatessen and wines… And not content to rest on its illustrious reputation, Galeries Lafayette has new delights in store for its customers this year…

From July 5 to August 31, the Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann showcase French style and the art of living while celebrating the revival of the “French Touch”. During this festive event, you will discover a selection of the most emblematic brands and personalities as well as an artistic program exploring the French Touch of today.

It also opened the largest shoe department in Europe, with 200 brands gloriously displayed in a recently restored 4000m2 space. From limited edition designer sneakers to signature models from the biggest names in luxury fashion, the range of shoes on display includes many models exclusive to Galeries Lafayette.


Three years after launching the Go for Good label to highlight products that are better for the environment, the store launched the Galeries Lafayette (RE)Store, where you can revamp, resell and recycle. This new space dedicated to circular fashion brings together vintage creations, responsible brands and innovative services. You can find everything there, from one-of-a-kind pieces and eco-responsible products to luxury items lovingly collected by second-hand fashion specialists. It also offers a range of services, such as allowing customers to drop off their old clothes for recycling.

Then there are the new Instabrands, a selection of the best brands created on social networks by a new generation of designers who are setting up their first physical space at Galeries Lafayette. Names you may recognize include Songe Lab, Janne Mill, Pretty Wire, and Seven August. This is your first opportunity to experience these brands IRL.

Don’t worry, it’s easy to keep track, with the new automated area dedicated to tax refunds and ready to help you on the first floor of the Coupole building.
