Frandor Shopping Center agrees to continue the CATA service

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) — An agreement has been reached that will see CATA continue to serve the Frandor Mall.

The Lansing Retail Center said it would remove two CATA bus stops from Frandor on Tuesday to “ensure the safety of customers and employees.”

Lansing Mayor Andy Schor announced Wednesday that an agreement has been reached to continue CATA service at the Frandor Mall.

CATA said they are required to remove bus shelters and benches in order to operate on the property.

“This is an interim solution – a temporary solution that allows us to continue to serve the Frandor Mall,” said CATA’s Lolo Robison. “We believe that sheltered service should be provided here, for the benefit of our users, businesses and the community. Forced to choose between no service and no shelter, no shelter is the least undesirable option.
