LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KVVU) – The Clark County Fire Department was on the scene of an early morning fire that broke out Monday at a building across from Sunset Park.
CCFD tells FOX5 that when crews arrived, they encountered heavy flames and smoke coming from the roof of part of the mall.
When the battalion commander arrived, he sounded a second alarm due to the intense fire conditions.
Deputy Fire Chief Kelly Blackmon said crews focused on battling the blaze from the outside and were able to contain the blaze within a single building.
According to firefighters, two businesses were searched but others inside the building are too damaged at the moment to be searched.
More than 70 firefighters responded to the blaze, including an airborne unit.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
Crews will remain on site to ensure hotspots do not erupt. Damage estimates are pending and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
