A department store launches a partnership with RELOOP

David Jones has joined the sustainable fashion chat. To celebrate World Earth Day, April 22, the department store announced the integration of the RELOOP re-commerce platform into its David Jones website.

Launched in partnership with GlamCorner, the RELOOP integration allows customers to resell, rent, recycle and repair their clothes, all with the larger goal of enabling them to join the sustainable fashion revolution and choose to buy more consciously. .

“We are committed to becoming a global leader in ethical, environmental and climate-conscious practices, and as such we champion continued partnerships with pioneers in this field,” said Bridget Veals, David Jones Managing Director, Womenswear, Footwear and Accessories.

“Through the RELOOP initiative, we hope to educate our customers on rental, resale and donation options while providing a transparent solution to facilitate climate-conscious purchases. This is another step to show our continued commitment to reducing fashion waste and supporting the transition to the circular economy of the future.

So how does it work? Similar to the AirRobe feature that The ICONIC recently added, the RELOOP service for David Jones allows customers to choose to resell, rent or give away their items at a later date. In other words, just before buying the piece online, you can check a box indicating that you wish to be able to possibly resell, rent or give away the garment, accessory or handbag on the RELOOP site at the bottom of Track.

Then, when you want to sell your item, you can easily do so on RELOOP’s site, following their guidelines to see what they do and don’t accept. If your item works, they’ll send you a RELOOP kit to pack it up, and then, once they get it, they’ll clean it, check its quality, and get it ready to upload online for resale. And, if your item is not in resalable condition, RELOOP will also give you the option to donate it to the non-profit organization “Dress for Success”.
