2 arrested, 3 more wanted in Douglasville mall shooting

DOUGLASVILLE, GA – Two people have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man Wednesday at the Douglas Commons Mall, the Douglasville Police Department announced Monday.

Janaya Campbell, 29, is being held at Calhoun County Jail and Ismael Gomez, 26, is being held at Dougherty County Jail, according to Douglasville Police Chief Gary Sparks. Both will face charges related to the shooting death of 21-year-old Angel Felix.

Felix was shot on July 6 while dealing drugs in the parking lot near McDonald’s, according to Douglasville Police Detective Sean Williams. Felix, a native of Glendale, Arizona, was visiting family in Edison, Georgia when he traveled with three other suspects to Douglasville, Williams said.

Cash and drugs were recovered from the crime scene, officials said. The trio drove to Douglasville in a silver Toyota Camry to deal drugs, officials say.

A fourth person, Kevin Martinez, was also in the vehicle, according to the police who say they are still trying to locate him.

The bullet-riddled vehicle was recovered in South Georgia and returned to the Douglasville Police Department on Friday, officials said.

Warrants have been issued for the arrests of Abel Santiago, Ovicel Santiago and Victor Maldonado for their involvement in Felix’s death, police said.
