Police said the initial investigation revealed Dolan was driving east on Ardrey Kell Rd at “a high speed”.
Investigators said the truck was traveling too fast to negotiate a curve in the road to the left and veered off the road to the right onto the grass shoulder. Dolan overcorrected and crossed the opposite lane and left the roadway to the left.
His truck then hit a small tree and continued until it hit a mall building.
The CMPD said the driver was not restrained in the vehicle.
Authorities said speed and impaired driving were contributing factors to the crash. Toxicology reports are still pending.
The accident investigation is still ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to call Detective Oberer at 704-432-2169 ext 3, or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
